Mrs Gibbons 2021 - 2022

Mrs Gibbons

Croeso / Welcome

The children are supported by the following staff during the week. Mrs Gibbons, Miss Franco HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) and Teaching Assistants (TA) Mrs Woods and Miss Pritchard.

Welcome back and welcome to our new families. We hope you all had a lovely Summer break. Let’s hope this year runs a bit more smoothly than last year. We are looking forward to seeing the children again and hearing all about what they have been up to over the Summer break. We have put together some useful information about the classes for this term.

School Day

Nursery start at 9am

Nursery finish at 11.30am

In the mornings Mr Morgan will be at the gate welcoming children into school. Reception and Nursery children will be met at the gate by a member of staff. All other children should make their way to class independently where staff will be waiting. If you need to pass a message on please pass on to Mr Morgan at the gate or remember you can use Seesaw at any time.

At the end of the school day the gate will be unlocked so you can enter the playground to collect your child. Foundation Phase children will exit via the steps next to the Foundation Phase outdoor area.

Uniform and Equipment

All children must bring a coat and a named water bottle to school. Please ensure all uniform is labelled clearly. If your child is bringing a packed lunch from home please make sure it is in a small box / bag. School lunches are available (see menu).

Please bring reading folders to school every day, reading can take place throughout the week and if we don’t have your childs folder in school it makes it difficult for us to read with your child as we have a limited supply of books. Please try to read with your child for a short time each evening we would encourage you to make a comment in your child’s reading record each time you read at home. Remember the Oxford Owl online book library is available and has lots of books and interactive activities for you to enjoy. Don’t worry if you have lost your log in new ones will be sent home next week.

Spellings / Word Work

New spelling or word work will be sent home once a week. Similar to the reading please make sure this work / book is in your child’s book bag each day.

Homework will be set per half term. There will be 6 different homework tasks for you to complete over 6 weeks. You can choose which homework you do each week. There will also be an extra Maths activity set through Seesaw each week.

Please do not bring homework books back into school. Once your child has completed a homework task please upload a picture into the correct folder on Seesaw.

Mrs McNamee PE Monday

Mrs Gibbons PE Friday

PE kits are to be sent into school as soon as possible (please make sure all kit is named clearly and in a named bag). The kit will be kept in school and returned at the end of the term for washing. On your child’s PE day please remember to remove or cover earrings with plasters, before they come into school. Long hair should also be tied back.

Children will have the opportunity to use the outdoor area and the outdoor classroom during the school day. Please make sure children have a suitable coat and when colder hat and gloves. Please practise putting on and taking off coats.

There will be a separate letter about this.

Please remember to send in £1 per week snack money so we can provide a varied selection for the children at playtime. Please inform us of any allergies.

Please send in any medication in a clearly labelled small sandwich style box or resealable bag.
