Welcome back everyone, we hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Children have settled back into our class routines well.

 

Our school topic for this term is Britain in the 20th Century. Our class topic is World War II. As part of our topic we have arranged a trip to Park Hall farm in Oswestry on Friday 8th March to look at some WWI and WWII trenches. More information about the trip will follow later on this term.

 

School Day

Start

 

8.55am The gate will be open from 8.45am for children to filter in.

 

Finish

3.15pm

 

 

In the mornings Mr Morgan will be at the gate welcoming children into school. All children should make their way to class independently where staff will be waiting. If you need to pass a message on please pass on to Mr Morgan at the gate, or you can email us or speak to us at the end of the school day. Uniform and Equipment

Please ensure all uniform is labelled clearly. Could all children bring in a labelled water bottle every day.

 

Reading

Reading is one of the most important skills children can have. Please encourage your child to read at home as much as possible.  

 

Spellings / Word Work

We will send home new spellings starting next week. Please encourage your child to go over their spellings at home ready to be tested in school. New spelling or word work will be sent home once a week.

 

Homework

Homework will be set per term and will be sent home next week. There will be 10 different homework tasks for you to complete over 10 weeks. You can choose which homework you do each week.

Please do not bring homework books back into school. Once your child has completed a homework task please upload a picture into the correct folder on Seesaw.  

 

P.E.

Please send PE kits to school as soon as possible (please make sure all kit is named clearly and in a named bag). The kit will be kept in school and returned at the end of the term for washing. On your child’s PE day please remember to remove or cover earrings with plasters, before they come into school. Long hair should also be tied back.

 

The correct PE kit is black shorts/leggings/jogging bottoms, white or red t-shirt and pumps/trainers. 

 

Our PE day this term is Tuesday.

 

Years 5 and 6 will begin their swimming sessions on Thursday 18th January and go every Thursday for a total of 9 weeks (not including half term). Children will need to bring a towel and swimwear. We would like to ask for a contribution of £3.50 per week towards the cost of the coach. This is payable online.  

 

 

Snack

You can find information regarding healthy snack on our school website.

 

Fresh fruit is available daily from the Junior fruit club at 20p per day.

 

Medication / Allergies

Please send in any medication in a clearly labelled small sandwich style box or resealable bag. Please inform us of any allergies.
